In the printing industry, the definition of impression is the number of prints that can be produced in a single print run. But for us, impression also means creating a legacy our employees can be proud of by helping others in our communities. We do this through PLPS Community Cares—an initiative for PLPS employees to assist charitable organizations with fundraising and volunteering efforts. Here's a look at some of our current projects:
Vitamin Angels is a charity that combats childhood malnutrition by distributing vitamins and nutritional supplements to under-served populations in over 66 countries, including the U.S. Our partnership began in 2010, and since then, we have donated approximately 5,000,000 labels and stickers.
Our plants on Long Island are having a toy drive to benefit Toys of Hope, which supports over 65,000 needy children, their families, and their pets every year.
Our plants in Lakewood and Old Saybrook are collecting toys for their local Toys for Tots Programs.
Our plants in Fairfield and Little Falls are selling gift boxes that were given to at-risk children via Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child. The money raised from the boxes will be donated to Destiny Rescue, which helps rescue children from sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
